Fall Happenings

Hello everyone! I'm having trouble blogging my pics from today, but these are from the fall from the last couple of weeks- get to know our neighborhood! Yeah!

All the street signs in McAdam have trains on them because the town's tourist attraction and previous livelihood was the train station here- it's really cool looking:)

This is our street- see our church?:)

Scott's 3rd pie- they get better every time!

Weekend at Steph's

Last weekend, after church on sunday, Scott and I drove 3 hours to Miramichi to visit my good friend Steph and hubby Matt! We had a great time with them- catching up on church stuff, talking about traveling and playing Dutchie! Steph made a VERY yummy Lasagna for us! We spent the night and the next day we went exploring all over Miramichi/Newcastle and visited Matt at work. It was really cool to see what they work on there- thanks Matto! We also went to s scrapbook store which inspired us to do some scrapping when we got home! Steph- I included the done page here so you can see it all done. Hope it's not too long before we see you guys again, thanks for having us, love ya!

Scrappin' it up

Scrapbooking is one of my favorite hobbies- all thru my first trimester I felt pretty gross, and not much like myself- including not wanting to scrapbook. But one of the indicators that I'm feeling better is that, yep, I'm wanting to scrapbook again! I hope the feeling lasts! Here is the page I started at Steph's- and then a homemade stamp I made with an exacto knife and eraser- big money saver!! Yeah!!

How it works!

My new Tree Stamp- cut out of an eraser- and how it looks on paper-cool!

Anyone can make one! It's fun- you should try it!

Great Expectations!

Hey everybody...we have some exciting news- although if I've seen you in the past 3 months I probably already spilled the beans, but:

WE'RE PREGNANT!!! . . . . . I KNOW!!!

Yep, yep it's true- 3 months along and counting. Because I've been quite sick throughout the first 3 months we told our church at 5 weeks so they could help us out with meals and stuff which was awesome- what a blessing, and opportunity. We are both very excited- although sometimes I'm freaked out about how big I'm going to get and that the baby's gonna want to come out sometime- but we have 6 more months before that happens! So, it's awesome to share this news with all my blog buddies- and those who come across our blog at random. Don't worry- we'll be keeping you updated with pictures- at least once a month- if not once a week- we'll see:). So stay tuned for more on baby Kohler- who for the record- I'm sure is a girl- but we'll have to wait and see! Yeah!:) And the due date is April 24, 2007- it may change depanding, but that's what it is for now! Spring baby!:)

Ginger Cookies!

Upon Stef's suggestion to bake when I can't find anything to do- today I ambitiously baked ginger cookies! They're called ginger snaps but I think of those as thin biscuits. They turned out great! Yeah! It wore me right out though, I had to take a rest after mixing and forming little balls and all that- it can be tiring! BTW- this update is not to compete with my husband's apple pie success- we both enjoy eating each other's baked goods...:) OK and to all my friends- PLEASE update your blogs- I'm desperate for some new pics and info on you guys!!:) love dee><>:)

Scott's response

Unlike Dee, I loved the season premiere of Lost last Wednesday night. I've seen the whole episode twice now... I have a separate blog now for this kind of thing, so if you'd like to read my thoughts on Lost last week, click here to visit my "thoughts" blog...

Scott's First Pie!

Scott made his big debut today by baking an apple pie! It turned out perfectly, though there were some dough problems early on- it didn't stop him! I think one of the trickyist things to bake is a pie- to get the crust right and all that- but Scott is quite the baker and it turned out great! Yeah for Scottie (and me who gets to enjoy the fruits of his labour:).

Also- it was so hot here today! Lately we've been having cooler fall weather but today it was sunny and hot- like 22-23 degrees! I went for a walk to one of my fave spots in McAdam- the dock. I read and just chilled for a while there and then Scott came to pick me up (I wasn't sure if I could walk all the way back- it's a bit far).

Anyways, Happy Thanksgiving to all! What a wonderful time of year to remember all of God's rich blessings in our lives- just looking outside is cause for praise. Today I read Paslm 8 and it reminded me "What is man that you think of him?". God is so awesome- and even tho I feel a bit homesick today since we couldn't be home for this holiday- we spent a great evening with the Blair Family from the church as they had us over for thanksgiving dinner last night- yeah! We also got to play with their daughter Sarah's new baby! Yeah!

Are you lost?

Hey there everyone. Scott and I were really looking forward to seeing the seaon 3 premeire of Lost...but was it just me or was anyone else frustrated with the way it turned out? I was glad about seeing all the characters again, but it seems so far fetched to me- I can't really explain it but it made me less interested in the show for sure. Like- the island (obviously Oahu, Hawaii)- is so huge and yet no one has discovered it yet? It's so huge that a neighborhood of American looking people live on it along with the 'others' and the plane crash victims. Anyways, I haven't completely lost faith in it yet- I just find it too complicated.

So let me know what you think- for the record- Scott loves it just as much and is so excited for this season:)

Autumn in McAdam

So I thought I'd put up some pictures of beautiful NB (don't worry- I'll always love NS:) in the fall. Lately I've been taking walks and collecting, then drying in old textbooks to keep them flat, fall leaves! I love doing this, and so I thought I'd share some pics of my favorite kinds of leaves!

I love the way the red starts to bleed in splotches onto the leaf-half the rainbow is here!

A sea of color

This is my favorite fall color-
I like to call it candy red cuz it has some orangy pink in it

Changing Hues (fancy word, eh?:)
