For the Scrapping Girls

Hey guys, I've been trying to finish these pages forever on Scott and my first date. So here they are- I still need to fill in the booklet on the second page to tell the entire story. I used an envelope to journal on the first page for a change of medium.
Enjoy! (BTW, there is another new post below this one that I did earlier today):

Trip Pics and Pizza

Hi everyone! Here are some pics of the beautiful "mountains" (I know to west coasters these are like little hills, but come on, it's all we have for mtns in the east!:) in Vermont:

Here we are driving thru Maine on our way home- thru tons of these little towns- it was so fun! And we came across Mexico, Maine! Here's the sign, albeit small:
We stopped at Denny's near Bangor for dinner which was very yummy, mmm breakfast all day!

And here's the homemade pizza I made yesterday (we made 2 smaller ones instead of one big one). I wanted to try my hand at it, so I made this crust which had to rise for an hour and then it was like SO THICK! But it tasted really good and scott chopped all the stuff to go on top- it was very yummy and fun to make! Then we watched Erin Brockovich which I'd never seen and was really good! It had some language, but not nearly as bad as what I had thought. What a great story!

Montreal!

We've been having a great time in (near) Montreal with the Pardy's. The other night we went out to see the movie Dream Girls- it was very good- better than I expected. The next day we went with the whole family to a museum called Pointe-a-Calliere, here's a description from a website:

"Place Royale, home of the Pointe-à-Callière museum, is the location of the very first European settlement in Montreal. The museum includes the 1992 building in the photo as well as several others nearby, including the old Customs House on the square. A visit to the museum includes a 20-minute multimedia presentation encapsulating Montreal's history, and a visit to the archaeological dig beneath the museum, which goes back to the very origins of the city."

Me and the fam went out to lunch after the museum while Scott hung out with Matt, then we went to a local mall- stores are different here and people are a lot more stylin'- crazy colored (and styled) hair and clothes. In the area of St. Jean, where the Pardy's live, most people speak english as well as french- so that's been good! Seeing downtown Montreal's been great- it's really busy-and has a more European and historic feel to it than Toronto.

We also had the chance to go visit Matt and Christine and their kidlets at their house! We made dinner together and then Christine made a chocolate fondu with toblerone for us! We ate it with fruit and it was so good...it was so great to be able to visit with them at their house!! Unfortunately, now that I'm feeling much better, Scott has caught the stomache flu that's been going around this area like an epedemic- so we weren't able to drive home today. Hopefully, I won't catch it, so that we can head home tomorrow- so please pray for us! Thanks!!

So here are some pics of our time in Montreal, enjoy! (and of course a belly picture at the end!):

Vermont and Hangin' with the Pardy's

Hi everyone! I thought I'd put up some pics from the last few days. Vermont was so beautiful, lots of green mountains- hence the french name- Vert Mont! And I am feeling a bit better today, especially being able to rest here at Sharon and Larry's place in St Jean, QC. BTW-Sharon and Larry are friends of ours who used to go to Scott's dad's church in Lake Echo. They also used to live in Wolfville, NS where Larry and Scott attended Acadia together (Larry's a military chaplain in QC). Scott also lived with them a few days a week when he attended Acadia. Anyways, they are awesome people and have 2 awesome kids- we're so glad to be able to visit with them here, they are very special to us!

Mountains! Green ones!

We also had the opportuntiy to meet up with Matt and Christine today (Sat)! They came over with the kids and had dinner and hung out with us at the Pardy's. It was so great. We love seeing these friends, what a blessing to be able to see them so often even though we live hundreds of miles apart! Yeah!

Vermont Vacation Bite

Hi everyone- we're on vacation right now and visiting with Larry and Sharon Pardy in St Jean Quebec! It's so nice to see them and the kids, we're just about to eat pizza so I can't make this long...we've driven thru Maine, Mass, a tiny bit of NH and spent last night at a beautiful inn in Vermont. Unfortunately I've been very sick with a cold...which has been very sucky...but, it's OK and I'm sure I'm on the mend now, and will be resting lots while we're here in Quebec (1/2 hr out of Montreal). We're having a great time, and the mountains in Vermont were so picturesque and beautiful- we stayed in a little town called Manchester and it was so quaint! I'll give the full update later with pics...bye for now! We're on vacation until Tuesday, yeah!

More Christmas Pictures!

Here's Scott and Graeme on boxing day morning - they bought the SAME thing for each other- the 4th Harry Potter movie!

On Christmas eve Scott and I were invited to a couple's house from our church- Lyndie and Barb, and their kids- Jenny and Jake. Lyndie's dad Eddie, with whom we're quite good friends, was there too, and he brought his mandolin and so we had a singsong and listened to some "fiddle tunes" thruout the night! It was a great way to spend Christmas eve, and so nice to hang out with this great family!

At one point during the eveing, Jake found an accordion and this hat and came out "playing" it and dancing- it was so funny:). I said he looked like a Russian...he's quite a character!
Eddie on the mandolin!

B4 we left Halifax, Scott and I and his parents spent an evening hanging out with Lori and Jeff- friends from Scott's dad's church in Lake Echo. We played Trivial Pursuit and even though it was Jeff and Scott against the rest of us, they still won! It was really fun:)

Good-bye Joyce...

Today we came home from Fredericton to hear the shocking news that a friend of ours, a lady in our church-70 years old, healthy and full of life, suddenly passed away. It's been a very sad evening. She was an amazing lady that lost her husband only 9 months ago. She was so friendly and happy, and she really helped to make us feel welcome and cared for here in McAdam. We will miss her greatly, along with our church family, and of course all her family and friends. I just wanted to share this news with you since she was precious to us and we will miss this new and special friend of ours.
Good-bye Joyce, much love and we know you're in heaven rejoicing with Jesus even now.
Love, dee and scott><>
