Life is Beautiful...

Hi everyone! I thought I'd just do a little update to let y'all know what's been happening here in McAdam. The other day was my last day subbing at the school as I'm increasingly uncomfy with a heavy belly and leg cramps that hinder my walking sometimes...it was just time to stop! It's like since the weekend I'm really feeling the ninth month! Anyways, Scott is an amazing help and has been encouraging me to get lots of rest and not do a lot of housework (which I'm finding harder and harder to do given the lack of energy and mobility)...which is great.

In other news, the other day our friends P&M's 2 yr old daughter shoved a large bead up her nose and needed to go to the local clinic, so Scott and I babysat their 4 yr old and 8 month old- so cute! They came home from the clinic with the bead still in there and ended up using tweezers to get the bead out themselves! The baby was a bit distraught to be away from mommy, so Scott held her the whole time and it was really cute!

Also, I was reading The Undomestic Goddess (again) by Sophie Kinsella when I was inspired by the main character to make a chiffon (very light) cake! So here is my creation-
A lemon Chiffon cake with lemon glaze! My first one! Yeah!

It turned out really well and I was all proud of myself- although Scott couldn't try any cuz he's given up sweets for lent:(...it's been all about the Bride's Cookbook from Betty Crocker- this was one great wedding gift- and I cannot remember who it is from- so if it was you, please let us know!!

And I thought I'd show everyone what baby gifts my girlfriends who came to visit last weekend gave us! We loved all the gifts, and tonight at the mall, thanks to Nanny:), we were able to buy a bassinette for the baby! It has lights, music and vibrates! We really wanted to have that and the car seat as necessities b4 the baby comes and now we're all set, we just have to get the car seat inspected and installed and then we are good to go. The baby seems to be trying to bust out of mummy's tummy sometimes and causes her some discomfort and pain at times, so I understand now why people say the last few weeks are the hardest (and for some, so are the first few weeks aswell)! Anyways, it's late so we are off to bed! Night night:), and thanks for reading:)

Reunion!

Hi everyone! Sorry so long in posting, but now I have all kinds of news! So on Sat morning I was feeling kinda low- homesick for the city, etc. and Scott and I had a funeral to attend at 2pm at our church (someone I didn't know). Then Scott told me he had a surprise for me. I had no idea what he was talking about, but then he walked me over to our house, and standing on our front porch was Nathalie! I was so surprised! But then, around the corner came Meredith, Alicia and Karen Mitton! They came up from Hfx together to surprise me! What an awesome gift...I felt soooo blessed:):):) So they came, bearing baby gifts:), and dinner.

I invited Miranda over (it was so nice for my hfx friends to meet her and vice versa) and we all hung out, walked up to see the train station, ate dinner together and then all stuffed our shirts with balloons that Nat brought so we could ALL be pregos! We were up late catching up, especially about Nathalie's wedding (photos and video), and they all slept in the spare room together! (Except me and Scott:) It was like a big sleepover, or being at camp- yeah! The next morning we all went to church together, and they got to hear Scott preach, and meet some of our sweet church family. Then we went out to lunch at the Family Cafe here in town, and after downloading some pics onto our computer, they headed back to Halifax:( in Nat's car.

I just have to say how sweet it was for you girls to come up and visit me- it was so precious to see and catch up with you all- and you have no idea how needed your visit was, or of what a blessing you are to me. Thank you.:)
Karen, I can't believe you came all the way from Ottawa!! I love all you girls, and am so glad you all got to feel my belly and the baby as it moved around in there!:)

I truly have amazing friends.

Scrap Happy!

As many of you know- scrapbooking is my favorite hobby, and I share that with many girlfriends- it's great to scrap with someone else because it's motivating and inspiring, and you can get feedback from your ideas right away! Anyways, Miranda came over tonight and got a start on her california trip album.

I couldn't sleep last night until 3am-It was unreal- so I came downstairs and started on this page which I finished tonight with Miranda- it's of the same beach day at Sperlonga beach near Rome which I scrapped last time- this is page 2 of that day:) I really love seeing other people's pages that they post- keep it up scrappers!!:)

Second Page of Sperlonga
So I discovered you can write with a Zig writer on photos- it needs some time to dry, but don't rub it and you're good to go. Also- it lets you see the pic better than vellum and I love the clear water in this picture!

Stephie and Scrappy

Yeah for March Break! Since Steph and I are both off this week from school, she decided to come from Miramichi and stay overnight with us here in McAdam! It was a short visit as I got mixed up and thought she was staying for 2 days instead of one (prego-brain takes the blame!), but so AWESOME to see Steph and be able to hang out and show her around our town a little! Yesterday I met up with her and her cousin Shauna who lives in Freddy, and we got to visit a little so that was really nice. Shauna had 2 extra kidlets she was watching as well as her own so she was a busy momma- and steph a busy aunt! And me, well I just kept telling the same one to sit down in the shopping cart:) Then we dropped by Shauna's beautiful home which is only about 40 minutes from us!

Last night Miranda came over and met Steph and we looked at her LA pics and Steph's wedding scrapbook- it's always fun collaborating ideas for scrapping...anyways, later this evening I felt inspired to finish a page from my Europe trip 2001 when we visited a beach near Rome called Sperlonga. Scott helped me with some ideas and then I went nuts on it- I'm tired now from seaching for shells I knew I had stored in the house somewhere and wanted to use on this page! Anyways, here are some pics:)

Yeah for girl time! (Thanks for taking pictures Scottie:):)

Sperlonga Page

I used a lot of chalk on this page to get the letter colors just right and make the Vellum show up better.

Journaling- the end says "a beautiful small town and beach right on the Med(diteranean Sea)."

Trip to Halifax & New Clothes!

Hi everyone! This past week we were able to get home to Halifax for 3 short days, because Scott had a meeting with the Board of Ministerial Standards at Acadia (part of his being able to be ordained). We had a great time visiting with family- we spent a day with Mama and Papa Kohler, a day driving to the valley and back and seeing Graeme and Jen and kids (including new baby Abby!!), and I got to spend a day out shopping and hanging out with Nanny, then going to a little baby shower at my mom's:)...they even got special baby plates and napkins and a little cake for us! So sweet!:) Thanks Mom, Nanny and Dave!
Arthur, mom and Dave's cat, was also there and I caught him in the act of eating one of my mom's plants.

Out shopping with nanny, I was so excited to visit Maternity stores since there are none in Fredericton. So since all that fits me now are sweat pants or Danielle's green maternity cords, I was pretty desperate for pants! So Nanny helped me pick out some nice pants and 2 dressier shirts- which are great for work. So I am modelling my new clothes in most of these pics:) (Thanks, Nanny!)
