Our Christmas!

Here's a little account of our Christmas! I'll have to do it over a few posts, cause there's a lot of pics! Anyways, here's a cute pic of me and scott to remind you what we look like:

Christmas morning we got up around 7:30 and came downstairs, ate brkfst and then opened our stockings from each other and then our gifts from each other! I gave scott 2 sweaters and a book on Lost and he gave me a couple of journals, an island calender and a scrapbook magazine subscription! Yeah! At about 9:30 we headed home to Halifax- it was a very pretty drive.

When we arrived we went straight to nanny's house for a Christmas dinner with mom, nanny, dave, his mom Enid and son Nick. It was very entertaining! Then we opened all our gifts for each other. Mom and Dave and Nanny made a great dinner, by the way!!:)

Here's mom and dave happy about the tennis rackets we bought them! yeah!

Here's nanny opening the scrapbook I made for her over the past month or so. It's all about how important she and our relationship has been to me since I was born- a good gift for the lady who has everything! I was so excited to finally be able to give it to her!!:)

Here's Nanny reading thru the scrapbook for the first time.

The next day (boxing day) was great- it was like Christmas morning again but this time with Scott's parents (at their house), and scott's brother Graeme, wife Jenn, and Bradley (4), Luke (2) and Abby who was only 2 weeks old! We had a great time opening gifts together and taking pics of the boys and Abby:)

Scott with new niece, Abby:)

Mama and Papa Kohler got Bradley and Luke their first real bikes for Christmas- they were so thrilled! It was awesome to watch- the guys later took the boys out to the garage to try them out and Bradley was saying "This is just what I've always wanted, Nana!"- So cute:)

We had a wonderful holiday, and were able to visit my father twice, and see both my mom and Dave and then nanny once more as well before heading back home. We even got to see Devin and Lenore for a quick lunch at Micmac Mall, which was so nice! Now we're back in McAdam, cozy in our home. Thank the Lord for a safe journey and good weather for driving, and a great visit with everyone we were able to see!:)

Christmas Catch-Up!

Hey everyone! This is a catch up blog from the last few weeks here in McAdam-lots has been happening and I haven't blogged it- so here's the big update! For the Scrapping Girls: I cannot post until after Xmas b/c I've been working on a project for someone who might look at our blog- forgive my delay and look forward to a bunch of posts after Xmas!:)

First of all- it was exciting when a couple of weeks ago I finally got a call to sub for grade 3 at the elem. school! For a day and a half, Yeah! It went well-although it is stressful and I wouldn't want to do it full time- I couldn't have done it w/out Scott helping me in the morning and bringing me my lunch (when he took this pic:)!!:

This is our Christmas Tree which we picked out and Scott cut down from a local tree farm! It was so fun picking one out and decorating it with my girlfriend Miranda!

A couple of times in the past month we've had jam sessions at our house- where our friend Eddie who plays a mean mandolin, and guitar!, comes over. We've also had friends Miranda and Leah over for singing practices, and it's been sooo nice to have our house filled with music! Esp. when Eddie plays it really sounds so Maratime-ish!

We had the privilege of being a pit-stop for Matt and Christine, Elijah and Joseph on their way to move to Montreal- it was so good to see them, and we had fun playing Dutch Blitz and catching up- and Joseph got to try out our portable crib for the night!

Since I can't post my newest scrapbook project, here are the supplies I bought with B-day money and gift certificates!!

Here's Scott's B-day cake (dec 8th) which has a funny story. See, since it was so cold in the sunroom that everything liquid in there was freezing, I thought that this would be a good place to store Scott's cake. Well that night it thawed as the weather got warmer..and of course- the cake started to melt! Scott got to it b4 it was too bad, but by the time we saved it it already looked like a UFO. Even thought the pieces were very elongated- it still tasted great:):)

So we're heading home on Christmas day to have super with my fam, and then spending the next day with the Kohler's-hopefully we'll be able to see a few friends while we're in town as well! Anyways-Merry Christmas to all of you, and grace and peace from Christ our Savior be to you today! Love dee and scottie:)

22 week belly and Xmas tree!

Hi everyone! Sorry long time no post-I'm having trouble getting my photos onto blogger and since I've already tried 3 times tonight, I'm giving up until later and only managed to get this one on here- but can you see how big my little belly is getting? Crazy eh? 22 weeks already- that's past halfway! The baby is movin' and groovin' in there lately and sometimes really gives a little kick- or elbow-or something:) It kinda feels like there's an alien in my tummy- but I find myself laying awake at night on my back with my hands on my tummy waiting for kicks...also I haven't been sleeping that well- does anyone know if that's a prego thing, too? Anyways, that's our newly put up tree behind me. Scott cut it down from a tree farm yesterday (that's how we do things here in the country!:) and had all the lights on before I woke up-awwww-so sweet, really. I decorated it tonight with my friend Miranda and it looks so nice:). our first tree together! Well, I'll be blogging more soon as soon as I figure out what's going wrong with my pics...happy holidays to everyone! Love dee and scott><>:)

It's Christmastime in McAdam!

Hi! Please look below to the last post to see a pic of baby Kohler!! So cute!:) We love him or her!
So here's a little update on McAdam life at Christmastime!
Here's me making cards and working on scrapbook stuff- I pretty much take over the dining room so we're forced to eat in the LR- but Scott is so sweet and very understanding of my love for creating:)
Here's my 19 week belly-bigger than b4, hey? Also- our garland on the stairs that we put up last night- with lights- it makes the house so Xmassy and cozy! (Sorry so blurry!)

Today was our first of four Saturday's that we're holding an open house for our church! We make the snacks and have some apple cider on the stove- and people come to hang out from 3-5! We have the church split up by last names into 4 groups so that we can accommodate everyone- but today was great, I met someone new- and we even broke out a guitar and mandolin at one point. It was so nice having people in our house- Scott came up with this open house idea since his parents do one every year- I think it's great- and now I get to practice all the baking mama Kohler taught me! AND tomorrow's my birthday! What an exciting weekend, hey??:):) Here's some snacks we put out- Marg's banana breadm cheese ball and crakers and sugar cookies! Yum!
In the LR we had chocolate covered Peanut Butter balls, chocolate balls with coconut and more cookies:)

Scott MADE this fantastic shelving untit for our living room since we have so many DVD/videos- Archie from church helped him, and now we have tons of space! It's beautiful!
Here's Scott and I last weekend in St. John. We visited with pastor Lyndsay Taylor and wife Cathy and their daughter Jen and had a wonderful time there- there are such sweet people and I just loved them! This is the Lake by their house.

Guess what we saw today...

So here it is - what we've been waiting for the last several weeks, our ultrasound picture! It is quite a clear picture, but in case you need a guide, the head is on the right, in profile (and that actually isn't his/her ear on the right, contrary to what both of us and a guy we met in the waiting room thought). Enjoy it! We are so excited!

Christmas Stuff and Scott's Induction

Nanny was with us for the weekend which was so nice:) On Sunday, Scott's parents came up to be there for Scott's induction service in the evening. It was a great service! All different people from the Baptist Convention were there as well as many church members and friends- and Scott was officially inducted as the Pastor of the church! Frankie (Scott's dad) spoke, and afterwards we had snacks downstairs. the interim pastor, Watson Williams and his wife were both there, too- which meant a lot to the church people and to us:). Paul, our friend from up the st who is the anglican minister, also came and spoke some words of encouragement to us from his seat. It was such a welcoming and encouraging service- our church is so awesome, the people are so amazingly friendly and I feel like we are family to them! And it was sooo nice to have members of our families there as well. We feel so blessed!:)

The next day, Monday, we all went to brkfst in Fred. b4 Frank and Nanny drove back to Halifax. Mama then stayed with us for a week! It has been such a blessing, esp. for me:), to have mama here with us this week, it has been great to have the company. We've made Xmas cards, and also done lots of Christmas baking together! We made Festive bon bons, Chocolate bon bons, shortbreads, sugar cookies and butter tarts...sooo yummy! Also- nanny told us to take Judy out for a nice dinner this week- so we all went to Boston Pizza which was sooo good-thanks nanny!! And then saw Stranger than Fiction which was OK (Scott really liked it:).

For the Scrapper Girls: Ok guys, I hope this counts, but instead of working on Pages, mama and I made some cards! I wasn't going to put them on here- because you know, I'll be giving them to people who check this blog! But I figured I had to show my work for the weekly scrapping challenge!! I really enjoyed trying new colors instead of red and green, too!

An Awesome Trip Home to NS

Ok everyone- this is the biggest post I've ever done- lotsa pictures! We had a great time home visiting family and friends in NS! I was able to meet up with Danielle (Carabin), Elliot and Rick at Starbucks dwntwn, where Danielle and I took some crazy pics which somehow got deleted off my camera-bummer!:( Anyways, we enjoyed our new common favorite drink- a pumkin Spice Latte, yumm:) After that, Scott and I met my mom, Dave and nanny at Smitty's where the Carabins came by to visit! It was great to see everyone together!:) We also saw my father who lives dwntwn aswell, and later had a belated b-day dinner for nephews Luke and Bradley at Scott's brother Graeme's house!
I had stopped taking Diclectin (anti-nausea drug)- and then quickly realized I still needed it, so stared taking it again that day at lunch. Since I'd been off of it- my body took a couple days to adjust and for like 3 days I was totally wiped out- I could hardly get off the couch, I just wanted to sleep all the time! Anyways, I'm feeling much better and well rested:) now.
Tuesday I did some scrappin' alongside Mama Kohler when I wasn't too tired to think:) In the evening I went over to Christine Walsh's and visited with her while our hubbys went to the Hayward Lectures at Acadia. Sarah Marsh also came over for a bit and it was so great to see them both!! And the boys as well:):) We at chips (my new craving), shared some prego moments:), and did a little scarapbooking-actually, Christine did 4 pages! She's fast...
On wednesday mom and nanny took me shopping for maternity clothes so I didn't have to keep wearing my one outfit everyday:)-it was so great- they got me a pair of jeans, grey cords and black pants, a fleecey zip up and a purple turtle neck from old navy maternity! Thanks guys!!:) I'm really happy about my new clothes!:P Mom had to go to work so nanny and I spent the rest of the day shopping for Xmas gifts for Scottie and chillin' at Starbucks b4 heading home- we had a great time:)!
Thursday we said bye to Scott's parents and headed to the Valley. Lenore and I hung out while Scott and Devin went to the Hayward Lectures. It was great- I got to scour thru some of Lenore's scrapbooks and we also went to 'too much fun' Scrapbook store and a consigner's shop for some baby clothes! When the boys got back we played some Dutchie and the boys won:( We stayed the night at Karen and Earle's and then in the am we picked up Nanny and headed back to McAdam! It's been so nice to have nanny here for the first time! She likes it- but of course finds it very quiet:)
