Trip to see the Grandparents in NS!

This past weekend we had a great visit home to NS! We made it only slightly late (hungry baby:) to Stewiack to see our friend Matt's induction service! It was great to see him and Christine and baby Sarah! I also got to see big Sarah (Marsh:) and we were able to show Emily to John McNab- who gave us the news that we were pregnant about 10 months ago! There were lots of people there I knew and it was great to catch up with them, too! Yeah!

Then there were the grandparents!! They love Emily so much, it's wonderful! And I don't think they mind babysitting her for us when we're there:). We were also able to spend an evening at Graeme and Jen's with Mama and Papa Kohler! Luke kept saying- "That's my baby Emily- she's my cousin", and it was so cute! (By the way, Bradley is missing from the pictures - he's harder to nail down than Luke is!) Also, Devin and Lenore were able to pop by to visit us in Lake Echo and it was so awesome to see them as we rarely get the chance- Emily was sleeping when they got there, but we all watched her sleep for a few minutes anyway:)

Also, Emily is doing some new tricks like smiling at colorful objects (like her "monkey mirror" in the car- every time we put her in the car now she smiles at it like it's a long lost friend!:) And she's almost able to bat at objects close to her- we'll put up the video we have as soon as I figue out how to do that:) Anyways, I'm exhausted today and think I'm going to bed after I write this (it's 7:45, but that's late enough for me tonight:)

Oh, and Happy Canada Day! (It's the most eventful weekend of the year in McAdam- I'll post pics later)

Dee and Emily at 2 months

Hi everyone! Sorry if you're sick of only baby pictures, but I truly can't help it- she's so cute (I know I'm biased, but seriously)!...anyways, our newest thing is helping Em to sleep thru the whole night, so we feed her and then put her to bed in the evening, sometimes with some protesting, and then she sleeps for like 7 hours! Yeah!! She's been waking up around 3 for a feeding and then going back to sleep til around 6, then getting up for the day...thankfully with daddy:)...until he goes to work at 9- then it's mommy's turn!

Well- we're off the NS for a couple of days to see family and we'll be back on Wednesday evening. I'm not sure why Scott's not in any of these photos...probably because he took them:) Anyways, I miss talking to all of you, and now that Em is sleeping more consistently and I have more freedom in the evenings, hopefully I'll be able to talk to more of you!!

Here's the girl!:

Awake and looking a bit confusedShe gets the kisses
Sometimes we imitate her and then laugh our heads off (she's spastic sometimes:)
Sooooo cute- bathtime in the sink

Hooray for smiling

I (Scott) woke up this morning and looked at "What to Expect the First Year." I was informed that by the end of the second month "your baby should smile in response to your smile." I of course thought the worst and thought, "What's wrong with Emily - she barely smiles at all, let alone as a response to a smile!" But today was the big day. She's cranky right now in Dee's arms, but she smiled for us a lot this afternoon. Here's the video!

By the way, I know I look and sound like a fool, but I was excited!

And here's Dee getting a smile!

Emily's Discovered Her Hands!:)

It's officially feeling like summertime here in McAdam! We've been to visit Andrew and Shirlu Kelly's camp on Oromocto Lake with the baby a couple of times, and last time we went swimming! It was cold, but it was fun (Emily didn't go swimming :)). The latest with Emily is that she's discovered that she has a soother on the end of each arm, and is constantly stuffing her fingers into her mouth! It's hilarious! She's also in love with her soother, as you'll see from the video clip. She is doing great in every way, and has first shots next week.

Mom and Dave were up to visit last weekend, and we went to see Ocean's Thirteen with Miranda Saturday night while they babysat. This was our first time being apart from Emily for so long, and I have to say, we really did miss her the whole time. But it was fun to get out and see a movie. Thanks to Mom and Dave for babysitting and helping us out over the weekend!

On a sad note, the older lady in the picture from the last post, Mary, passed away this week, and Scott is doing the funeral tomorrow (Thursday).

Here are some pics of our sweet little girl and some of our friends:

Andrea playing with Em at their camp
Miranda feeding Emily at the Kelly's camp
Kyle and Alissa and I
Emily in love with her soother
Mmm...these are yummy...how come no one told me these were here before?

Oh it's so traumatizing, mommy!

Did you take my hands away? Where'd they go?

They're going in

"Arrg!" (stuffing hands into mouth)...suck...suck...suck
How did they both fit last time?

Oh well, one will do for now...

Miranda and I on a walk to the lake

And here's a video of Emily and her soother:

Our trip to Bangor with Em!

There is so much to tell- where to start? Well last weekend after church, Scott and I drove to Bangor, stayed over night and then saw his cousin Paul and Heather, 1 1/2 year old Hannah and new baby Nate! We had such a great time- it was awesome to hang out with Family and see the new baby! Also, anyone who knows me knows how much I love trips, so it was so much fun! I love the BAngor mall- they have a great family bathroom (And baby Gap!)! Funny how priorities change after baby...:) Emily did great, we took the pack and play nanny got us and it was awesome.

Also- there's a ton of pics here of Emily- but one that is particularly funny. Scott and I had just finished bathing her and then brought her downstairs to wash her hair. Scott was just getting her dried off when she projectile vomited all over herself and everything near her...you just have to laugh in a situation like this:)

Her new tricks are that she's starting to make more cooing sounds and trying to smile...we think...and when it happens- usually in her sleeping or groggy states-it makes us ridiculously excited:)

Our view of Emily from the front seat of the car (thanks for the mirror, T!:)

Me and Heather and the babes
Unaware of each other but cute none the less:)
Paul and Heather's new house in progress
Baby Nate

Em looking like a newborn in a hat

Mama and Baby

Tuckered out from all that growing (she's 10lbs now!)
New baby gap shirt and first time wearing her pink sneakers
Baby shoes- so cute:)
Miranda found a setting on my camera that pulls oout only one color- cool, huh?
This setting-"color swap"-turns everything that is white- to pink (you choose what 2 colors to swap-Miranda just picked these for fun:)
A Sleepy Smile-soo cute!
Blurry, but one of my favorite pics of Emily- look at that smile (again, she was almost asleep)!

We call these moves- "directing traffic":
"OK, stop in all directions..."
"Keep movin' people. This way..."

Please click on these pictures to see the full extent of the mess:)

"Not right now, mommy..."

We call this "noses"- it helps her fall asleep
Don't worry- no music was actually playing thru these:) Hehehe...so cute
Just chillin' with daddy
I love this face
